This Shrake lived in the Magical Creatures Reserve in the 1980s and 1990s.[1]
Biography[]
During the 1980s or 1990s, this Shrake lived in the Open Oceans in the Magical Creatures Reserve, and Jacob's sibling would often bond with and feed this Shrake.[1]
In the 1980s or early 1990s, a Muggle fishing boat accidentally caught a merkid in one of their nets. The Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures asked Jacob's sibling to send this Shrake to follow the fishing boat and destroy its net. Jacob's sibling agreed, and the Shrake managed to successfully destroy the net, freeing the merkid, before returning home to the Magical Creatures Reserve.[1]
During the same time, a Shrake shoal caught Spike rot and were brought to the Magical Creatures Reserve by Sal Grimstone in order to cure them. Jacob's sibling and Rubeus Hagrid helped by brewing a cure for Spike rot, however the potion needed a Shrake spine from a healthy Shrake. Jacob's sibling played with this Shrake in order to non-painfully dislodge enough Shrake spines for the potion and successfully brewed it and used it to cure the Shrake shoal.[2]

- The Shrake's name, just like all creatures in the Magical Creatures Reserve, can be customised by the player. The dialogue of the quest will subsequently change according to the name determined by the player.
