Silvanus Kettleburn cared for this Augurey during the late 1980s on behalf of the British Ministry of Magic.[1]
Biography[]
During the late 1980s, the British Ministry of Magic had come into the possession of several different magical birds: a Fwooper, three Diricawls, and this Augurey. As all the birds had been raised in captivity, the Ministry asked for Kettleburn's help in re-introducing them into the wild. The Augurey managed to escape and was looking for a mate, though as it had no knowledge of Augurey mating rituals due to being raised in captivity it tried to spy on Jacob's sibling's picnic date. Jacob's sibling decided to help the Augurey, and took it to Rubeus Hagrid who informed Jacob's sibling of the problem. They then decided to create an Augurey mating dance, which they taught to the bird, who performed it in the Forbidden Forest and managed to attract a mate. The two Augureys then flew off together.
