The wand of Silvanus Kettleburn was eleven and a half inches long, made of chestnut with a phoenix feather core. The wand was described as being "whippy".[1]

Like most wands owned in Great Britain, this wand was most likely manufactured by the Wandmaker Garrick Ollivander and purchased from his wand shop Ollivanders, in Diagon Alley, London.[2]

Chestnut wands were said to be suited to, among other things, wizards and witches skilled at dealing with magical creatures.[2] Kettleburn was the Care of Magical Creatures Professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for a number of years, showing this wand suited him very well to his skills.
