Skylar Flame was a witch who founded the Sphinx Club at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during the 1880s.

Biography

Skylar organised a viewing party for a meteor shower along with her friends Olin Oakwood, Margaretta Ironbark, and Alphonso Ringbloom. As the viewing party was a success, they eventually decided to form student clubs together. She pressured Olin to compete in the "Trials of Iron, Oak, and Flame" tournament, along with Margaretta. The competition got the best of them and turned them into grudging enemies. After he defeated her and won the tournament, their study group fell apart and each of them formed their own clubs, each one dedicated to the areas of study that suited them best.

At some point, Flame wrote a historical manuscript that was entitled, "Olin the Cheat". The contents of this dissertation detailed the dastardly deeds of a cruel wizard. Flame wrote that Olin had lied to her and pretended to be her friend.

Post-mortem

The four founders had decided to get portraits made of themselves to help the later students with their studies, but the portraits of Skylar, Olin, and Margaretta had eventually been collected and reconciled by an art collector friend of Albus Dumbledore. The three wanted to reconcile with Alphonso too, and suggested the student club challenge programme as a way to lure him out, which Dumbledore didn't believe but went ahead with anyway. When the portrait of Alphonso revealed himself, Dumbledore took it to meet with the rest of the founders.
