Slow-acting venoms were, presumably, the venoms of certain creatures that had effects that worked slowly over a certain period of time.[1][2]
History[]
This type of venom was briefly covered in Gilderoy Lockhart's book Gadding with Ghouls. In 1992, Hermione Granger used this fact to convince Lockhart to sign a note approving her to check out Moste Potente Potions from the Restricted Section of the Hogwarts Library, as she claimed the book would help her learn more about the subject, whereas in reality, she really wanted to learn how to brew the Polyjuice Potion.[1]
