The Quidditch game was played between Slytherin and Ravenclaw in January 1994 at the start of term following the Christmas break. Slytherin only narrowly defeated Ravenclaw and were then probably second place in the league.[1][2]
The victory worried the Gryffindor team who needed to win their next game to be in second place and in with a chance of winning the tournament.[1]
