- "Raising her wand, she sends a fiery bolt towards the grand window opposite. As it explodes, a blast of cold air sweeps the room, extinguishing the candles."
Behind the scenes
- In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (film), Bellatrix Lestrange uses this spell in the Great Hall in her insane celebratory outburst after the death of Albus Dumbledore in 1997. The force of the spell shattered the hall's windows and extinguished the floating candles, though the House Point hourglasses were unaffected. However, since Bellatrix does not feature in the battle in the novel, this cannot be considered canon.
- This spell may be the Reductor Curse, as they have identical effects.
- It may be related to, or the same spell as, the one Voldemort used a year later to begin the Battle of Hogwarts.
