- "Please apply, quoting blood-group, to the S.T.V. Head Office, London."
- — Advert in the Daily Prophet, 8 February 1999[src]
The Society for the Tolerance of Vampires (S.T.V.) was an organisation which advocated for the welfare of vampires in the wizarding world,[1] presumably through the promotion of the Guidelines for the Treatment of Non-Wizard Part-Humans.
The S.T.V. had their candlelit Head Office located somewhere in London; when the Daily Prophet advertised for someone to run the office, emphasis was placed on the preference for potential applicants with an allergy to garlic, and who would be willing to quote their blood-group.[1]
Behind the scenes
- Given how vampires were classified as Beings by the Ministry of Magic, the Society for the Tolerance of Vampires might in some way be affiliated with the Being Division at the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures.
- Since job applicants were requested to provide their blood-group, it might be that office workers partake in the donation of blood in an effort to negate the necessity for vampires to attack and feed off living human beings to sustain themselves.
