This Portkey was a special Portkey provided to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry by the Magical Congress of the United States of America.[1]
Description[]
It allowed for direct access into the interior of the Woolworth Building, which Albus Dumbledore described as a great show of trust on their part, as MACUSA generally didn't permit Portkeys to be connected to their building.[1]
The reason for this trust was, in part, due to Dumbledore himself, who had visited the Woolworth Building on many occasions and was an esteemed guest. However, even with their high opinion of Dumbledore, MACUSA would only allow one of their own to operate the Portkey.[1]
History[]
During the 1986–1987 school year, Holly Blackbird, a member of the Body for Protection of Magical Species, operated this Portkey twice in order to bring the winners of the International Confederation of Wizards Challenge on a tour of the offices of the Body.[1]
