"Those are Spiky Bushes. You may cast Incendio on them but step back to avoid their needles."
Pomona Sprout on the Spiky Bushes[src]

Spiky Bushes were bushes with large piercing spikes growing out of them.[1]

Description

They could shoot these spikes at humans, but could be destroyed using the Fire-Making Spell. They were covered in first year Herbology classes at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. According to Professor Pomona Sprout, it was best to try and get rid of them from a distance, seeing as the spikes will retaliate when the plant was attacked, and whomever was close nearby would undoubtedly be hit.[1]
