- "Behind the church, row upon row of snowy tombstones protruded from a blanket of pale blue that was flecked with dazzling red, gold, and green wherever the reflections from the stained glass hit the snow."
- — Description.[src]
Godric's Hollow graveyard was the final resting place of James and Lily Potter, as well as many other residents of Godric's Hollow.
History
- "The graveyard is full of the names of ancient magical families, and this accounts, no doubt, for the stories of hauntings that have dogged the little church beside it for many centuries."
- — Bathilda Bagshot, A History of Magic.[src]
The date of which the cemetery was built is unknown, but it is possible that it is around the life of Godric Gryffindor.
Murder of the Potters
In 1981, after Peter Pettigrew gave the location of the Potter residence to Lord Voldemort, James Potter and Lily Potter were killed. Their bodies were buried in the Godric's Hollow graveyard.
