The staghorn is a species of mushroom with a flat, brownish cap.[3] It was sold at the apothecary in Diagon Alley and thus was therefore used in Potion-making.[1]
Rubeus Hagrid kept a jar of powdered staghorns in his hut.[4]
Behind the scenes[]
- The staghorn mushroom is used in healing and has shown antitumor applications.[5]
- However, the mushrooms shown in the prop do not resemble ordinary staghorn mushrooms. They may be a magical variety instead.
