The first-floor corridor and Serpentine Corridor were connected by a staircase, at the bottom of which was Minerva McGonagall's office. Harry Potter used it to deliver a note to McGonagall from Dolores Umbridge during a Defence Against the Dark Arts lesson in Classroom 3C.[1]
