The Star Shower Spell (Stella Cascadia) was an Atmospheric Charm that created a shower of stars. It could also be used on portraits.[1]

History[]

The spell was invented by Badeea Ali and Jacob's sibling during the 1988–1989 school year (their fifth year) with the help of Rowan Khanna, William Weasley, Merula Snyde, and Professors Filius Flitwick and Severus Snape. Multiple incantations including Stella Corusco, Stella Cascade and Stella Cascado were tested as possible incantations of this spell, but the right one was eventually found to be Stella Cascadia.[1]

Badeea painted the Clocktower Courtyard and Jacob's sibling cast this spell on the painting. This caused a meteor shower in both the painting and in the real courtyard as intended. However, the meteorites in reality showered down directly upon on the occupied courtyard, causing chaos.[1][2]

During the summer holidays that followed, the inventor of the spell, Badeea Ali, cast the spell over her house, which ended with her mother being furious.[3]

During an Astronomy lesson in their sixth year, Badeea joked about creating a "moon shower" spell.[4]
