Steak and kidney pie is a British dish with a filling of diced beef and kidneys in a thick sauce.
History[]
During Sirona Ryan and Philomena's Hogwarts years, Dorothy Sprottle made them steak and kidney pie when they were staying at her place.[3]
Steak and kidney pie was one of the various pie dishes that Jacob's sibling considered bringing to Rubeus Hagrid's potluck during the 1980s, based off of a recipe they found in a cookbook in the Hogwarts Library.[4] Steak and kidney pie was served at dinnertime at Hogwarts on 12 September 1991[1] and in September 1995.[2] Steak and kidney was sold as a meal specialty at the Leaky Cauldron. It was listed on a wall menu.[5]
In 1997, Kreacher promised to make Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley, and Hermione Granger one when they got back to 12 Grimmauld Place after infiltrating the British Ministry of Magic. However, unfortunately, the trio were unable to return.[6]
