Stew is a dish of meat and vegetables cooked in liquid and served in the resultant gravy.[3]

History[]

In 1993, Hermione Granger pushed a dish of stew towards Ronald Weasley to cheer him up after they had a depressing Divination class. Ron spooned stew onto his plate but didn't start.[4]

Stew was served at the Welcoming Feast on 30 October 1994[5] and at the Yule Ball on 25 December 1994.[1]

In 1995, at Harry Potter's first night staying at 12 Grimmauld Place with the Order of the Phoenix, the Weasley twins almost knocked over a pot of stew.[2]

In 1996, at dinner, Hermione sat alone playing with her stew when she was at odds with Ron.[6]

On 1 September 1997, the trio had stew and treacle tart for dinner.[7]
