A student assistant referred to any student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry entrusted the task of assisting a member of the staff with the execution of their daily duties.[1]
Known student assistants[]
- Jacob's sibling was a part-time student assistant of the Matron of the day, Madam Poppy Pomfrey, and helped her in treating and looking after sick and injured students during the 1980s.[1]
- The Music professor had to momentarily step out of his classroom during a lesson during the 1992–1993 school year, leaving the task of monitoring the class to a student assistant from Ravenclaw House.[2]
- During the same year, the school's Muggle Studies professor had also appointed a young man in Hufflepuff House to be his student assistant.[2]
