Sugared Butterfly Wings were a wizarding sweet manufactured in England since 1913 by Madam Borboleta Candies Ltd..[1] They had a shelf life of nearly 800 years and were made with organic butterflies, organic dark chocolate, milk, sugar, and coconut.[1] They were served in a greenish-gold tin with a black decoration below the lid.
Honeydukes in Hogsmeade sold Sugared Butterfly Wings.
History[]
During the 1988–1989 school year, Sugared Butterfly Wings were among the sweets that Ambrosius Flume was considering serving to the students at the Summer Nights dance festival.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
- These candies are featured in the Honeydukes Virtual Tour, at Harry Potter.com. They are also featured in the Special Features DVD of the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
- The tins of Sugared Butterfly Wings from 1993 would only expire in the year 2785, meaning their shelf life was very long indeed.
