This festival was held by members of Hogsmeade in the 1988–1989 school year. They planned to make it an annual tradition, although no known festivals were held after that year.[1]
History[]
Madam Rosmerta organised a committee to get together and plan a summer festival, which she wanted to make an annual tradition. The plan was to have a secret theme and every member of the committee would be responsible for organising a separate part of it. However, the plan backfired, as each member was led to believe the theme was something different and they all started working on a different plan.[1]
Jacob's sibling and their friends wanted to know about the theme, so they started investigating. After talking to Rubeus Hagrid, Minerva McGonagall, Ambrosius Flume, and Filius Flitwick, Jacob's sibling received a range of different and strange clues. Fearing something was wrong with the planning committee, they confronted Rosmerta with their clues, who confirmed something was wrong and called the committee together to discuss. Unsure of what to do about all the different themes, Jacob's sibling suggested that they should instead go ahead with the mishmash of different themes, which would be emblematic of the spirit of Hogsmeade itself.[1]
Rosmerta agreed and continued organising the festival, which ended up being a resounding success. During the festival, Jacob's sibling's date gave them a Hogsmeade t-shirt with which to remember the occasion.[1]
