Tabitha Smithers was a Welsh witch living in Swansea.[1]
Biography[]
Smithers was a neighbour of the ex-Auror Patricia McManners, frequently bringing her meat pies on Sundays. In 1875[2], Smithers adopted a stray calico cat she nicknamed "Tubs". However, fifteen years later, in late 1890, Smithers started noticing that "Tubs" was frequently entering her neighbour's property. Believing that "Tubs" was pretending to have not been fed in order to convince McManners to feed her extra food, Smithers followed the cat to her neighbour's house, only to learn that "Tubs" actually was McManners, who was an unregistered Animagus who had infiltrated her home due to suspecting Smithers of using dark magic, which was later revealed to be catnip. McManners was arrested due to being an unregistered Animagus, although Smithers felt no resentment towards her neighbour, claiming that she was always a good, if greedy, cat and expressing her slight hope that McManners would agree to continue being her cat upon her release.[1]
