Talbott Winger's father was a wizard who opposed Lord Voldemort during the First Wizarding War, though neither he nor Talbott's mother joined any defence organisation.
Biography[]
He wrote for the Daily Prophet, and had at one point, snuck in his son Talbott Winger's poems to be published within.[2]
He and his wife - Talbott's mother - both despised the ideals of the Death Eaters and while they never joined the Order of the Phoenix, they still gave the fight against Lord Voldemort their full support and entered the fray at least once themselves. However, before Voldemort's first defeat, Mr Winger and his wife were killed by Death Eaters, presumably for their opposition. Their son managed to escape by transforming into his animagus eagle form.[3]
In the 1986–1987 school year, Barnaby Lee made up the claim that Talbott's father was a vampire.[4]

As Talbott was born in 1972 or 1973, the earliest he could have turned six was 1978. As such, Talbott's father was still alive in 1978.
