A swan necklace belonged to Talbott Winger when he was attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It was a white feather on a chain, and he was very sentimental about it due to the feather belonging to his late mother. He was very upset when he dropped it and couldn't find it. Argus Filch found and gave it to Mrs Norris, and Jacob's sibling helped get it back.[1]
History[]
Talbott Winger's mother was an Animagus with a swan form, and she created a necklace out of one of her own feathers for her husband and Talbott. She and her husband died, and it became very sentimental to Talbott. In 1984, he took it to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and kept wearing it and hiding it under school robes.[1]
While he was attending the third year at Hogwarts, the clasp loosened and it fell. Talbott was very upset when he couldn't find the necklace, and soon began failing to attend lessons so he could look for it. He asked Professor McGonagall if she had seen it, but she hadn't. She told Jacob's sibling about it when they were feeling concerned about how withdrawn he was, and they approached Talbott to help find it.[1]
They searched the school and found a piece of the broken clasp in the Training Grounds. They deduced Argus Filch could have found and taken it, and looked in Filch's office. They found a book which noted Mrs Norris liked it and kept chewing it, so he gave it to her. Using their Animagus form, Jacob's sibling frightened Mrs Norris away and gained the necklace back for Talbott.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- In Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, searching for the necklace was a time-limited Side Quest entitled "Flying Solo". It was unlocked by completing the Become an Animagus adventure.
