AFAIK, most of the ingredients from Macbeth's witches potion are not literally animal parts - e.g. Adder's Fork is not the tongue of an adder, but a leaf from the Adder's Fork plant. similarly, eye of newt is mustard seed, etc. We did it in english lit at school, but here is a modern web page stating similar: https://people.howstuffworks.com/is-eye-of-newt-real-thing.htm
