The Queen's Handbag Canon?
I was wondering about the part in her Early Life section about the handbag. On Elizabeth II's page here, it says "the events surrounding this short skit cannot be considered canon as it contradicts canon in several points." I understand how the main areas of The Queen's Handbag aren't canon, and I understand the policy of allowing things that don't contradict "higher forms of information" (my phrasing).

This is my main question: If the whole handbag thing never happened in canon according to our policy, how can Neville's explanation about her handbag be canon when the entire story around it isn't.

I understand if you don't think it's a good question. I was just wondering what all of your opinions are on it. - Deathislife2011 (talk) 05:37, November 28, 2012 (UTC)

:Essentially, when it comes to non-Rowling sources, our canon policy is to ignore anything that contradicts known canon from Rowling (such as the Summoning Spell teleporting objects rather than physically pulling them or the concept of a "magical transference of power" to Buckingham Palace), but accept whatever's left. That makes, by our policies, the events regarding Mrs. Longbottom canon, as they can be related while ignoring the main, non-canon story. -- 1337star (Drop me a line!) 06:08, November 28, 2012 (UTC)

Just wondering, is Augusta's birth-name ever revealed? It isn't Longbottom, as in Order of the Phoenix Miriam Strout refers to her as "Mrs Longbottom" when asking if she was leaving. --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 23:39, October 2, 2013 (UTC)

Who keeps changing the quote to Bellatrix Lestrange. It is Lucius Malfoy who talks to Neville. I can produce the page, having Lucius talk. If the other person cannnot show it was Bellatrix, I will change it back to Lucius --216.254.169.147 21:49, September 21, 2009 (UTC)

Philosopher's Stone film

Snapshot-2010-02-18-16h56m33s184

Neville and (possibly) Augusta Longbottom at the Hogwarts Express.

Is it possible that she appeared in the P.S. film? I think that might be her next to Neville in the image below. -Smonocco 17:02, February 18, 2010 (UTC)

As the books, which are the most cannon source, identify the person who acompanied him to the train as Augusta, it is probably her.--Rodolphus 17:09, February 18, 2010 (UTC)

If this is Augusta, we have to know who portrayed her. --Danniesen August 28 2010 18:24

In the Viaduct Courtyard

In Harry Potter adn the Deathly Hallows part 2, during the beginings of the Battle of Hogwarts, It's seen an old woman, with long skirt and a hat running from the fire of the Death Eaters to the castle when Mcgongagall is saying: "Go inside". Can this woman be Augusta? Lestrange97 20:19, October 12, 2011 (UTC)

She seems to be quite aged, and she wears old-fashioned. Lestrange97 16:10, November 18, 2011 (UTC)

Could you supply a photo of her in the Courtyard?

Screen shot 2011-11-19 at 8.51

Higher quality of original shot.

I've tried it, but I can't yake a better photo, although you can see her in the film, qhen Harry enter to the Great Hall after Voldemort speech aboput Harry's death, just when Kingsley casts protego. Lestrange97 12:35, November 19, 2011 (UTC)

I couldn't find her when McGonagall was saying, "Get inside", but I took a higher quality picture of her when she's running into the castle after Harry came back. Although, looking at her face, she looks younger than what a grandmother would probably be. AlastorMoody 01:55, November 20, 2011 (UTC)

She looks younger, but like we don't know how is her really aspect, we can't secure nothing. Also, she is the only one who wear like that old-fashioned way.Lestrange97 18:02, November 20, 2011 (UTC)

A shot of her face.

When you look on this page you can see that this person must be either a student or a very young teacher.  Harry granger   Talk   contribs 18:36, November 20, 2011 (UTC)

She can't be a student because she is so old, and she isn't wearing the uniform. She also can be a Hogsmeade's resident or a familiar or friend of the students.Lestrange97 19:03, November 20, 2011 (UTC)

I have a picture of Augusta in the courtyard, from the documentary of "When Harry Left Hogwarts" from a video on youtube. It's diagonally down to the right. The woman in the picture (avove diagonally right) is definitely NOT Augusta. HarryPotterRules1 01:53, February 27, 2012 (UTC)

Augusta

Augusta (left), in the courtyard in a deleted scene: found in the documentary "When Harry left Hogwarts"

I Found her!

When I watching "Whn Harry left Hogwarts" i found an old lady wearing the same hat as Neville's Bogart. Open this link http://snitchseeker.com/harry-potter-news/videos-full-deathly-hallows-part-2-when-harry-left-hogwarts-documentary-86388/, and open the first video, then open 17:37 and you'll find her! She is even bringing her famous handbag.

I have posted a picture to back up the point of the above person. The Picture is to the right. HarryPotterRules1 01:52, February 27, 2012 (UTC)
