Flavours[]
I'm gonna go ahead and add the flavours that the real Bertie Bott's Beans come in, in a seperate list w/ a note that these are the 'Muggle' flavours. Might as well cover everything. Lachatdelarue 22:52, 22 Dec 2005 (UTC)
When it comes to flavours, should the flavours which are referenced from the real-world product be considered in-universe canon flavours? I also think creating articles for flavours without them that are referenced in canon releases (video games mainly) is in order. RedWizard98 (talk) 22:30, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
Cards with Berties?[]
I thought the collectable cards only came with the Chocolate Frogs?

Canadian Spelling[]
As a Canadian, it is an affront to suggest that we spell it as "Flavor". Only Americans do so; we spell it as "Flavour". The misspelled boxes/bags of the actual edible product are only products of American importing. As with the whole Harry Potter series, our editions go by the original English and not the American. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.38.69.19 (talk • contribs).
- I highly doubt anyone meant harm by adding that. Besides which, what makes it an affront? "Only Americans do so"? Is that so bad (its not actually misspelled afterall...)? Its just spelling. You've corrected it, that's why its a wiki -- anyone can edit and correct things. -- DarkJedi613 (Talk) 18:26, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
I think the issue isn't quite anyone meaning any harm, it's the general idea of lumping Canadians in with Americans- even though linguistically there are a number of differences that ought to be respected. In the United States, it would not be misspelled if spelled 'flavor'. In places like Canada, Australia and the UK, 'flavor' is certainly a misspelling. I think the issue is more of not recognizing the linguistic differences between the two countries, despite the proximity.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.38.69.19 (talk • contribs).
- I agree, although I'm just suggesting to watch implications of comments. Afterall if you "take affront" to be grouped with Americans, I can take affront to saying that "Only Americans...misspelled" something. My point being the page could have been edited and a simple comment saying "In Canada we also spell it as 'flavour,' the boxes/bags are simply imported from America. I've fixed this on the page." In fact, that could have simply be written in the editing comment. -- DarkJedi613 (Talk) 18:02, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
References[]
I think we should state the references to ALL known flavours, because I'm afraid there are some fanon flavours. -- Seth Cooper (Owl Post) 18:00, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
Name[]
In The Goblet of Fire, they're called Bertie Botts' instead of Bertie Bott's. I'm not sure if that's true with all books. Butterfly the rabbit 14:49, December 12, 2010 (UTC)
Beans as currency in 1-3[]
Should I mention that the beans are used as a form of currency in the first three games? Per Ankh ED 03:58, February 22, 2013 (UTC)
- You can add it as a Behind the scenes item. ProfessorTofty (talk) 04:05, February 22, 2013 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks. Per Ankh ED 04:16, February 22, 2013 (UTC)
Existance in Hogwarts Legacy - retcon?[]
How can they exist in Hogwarts Legacy if they originated in the mid 20th century? That is 1933-1967, not the 1890s... Lukas Exemplar (talk) 16:26, 8 February 2023 (UTC)
EDIT: Also, what is the claim of it appearing in the game based on? Is there any candy box in-game with the name on? Or is it based on the fact that a student ate something that looked like jelly beans at one of the Hogwarts fountains? Becaues that doesn't necessarily have to be straight up Bertie Bott's. Could've been just a reference, but still a different candy, even a different magical kind. Or it could be a prototype or the candy that inspired by current version or something. Lukas Exemplar (talk) 16:29, 8 February 2023 (UTC)
EDIT NUMER 2: I've seen the jelly beans now, and looked closely at the packaging and what the beans look like, and they look nothing like the canon Every Flavor Beans we've seen. They're not the same. The beans and the packaging - both the image on the front and the image of beans inside of it, and the beans being eaten, are not one single color each but have about two colors each. So it's not the same product. Hogwarts Legacy should be removed from the list of appearance on this page. Lukas Exemplar (talk) 08:24, 9 February 2023 (UTC)
- It already has been, by the user who added it. - MrSiriusBlack Talk 11:43, 9 February 2023 (UTC)
