I'm getting fed up of saying this, but this wiki needs tidying up, starting with deleting pages like this. EVERY CHARACTER HAS A FATHER, but we can't keep filling up the wiki with irrelevant ancestors. This bloke was mentioned off-hand by a minor character, let's just delete the article and move on. It conveys absolutely no information. Azraphon 22:02, July 15, 2012 (UTC)

I quite disagree. It's true that every character has a father (and two grandfathers, and four great-grandfathers, and...) and not every character's ancestors deserve inclusion on the wiki, but this individual (Binns's father) is directly mentioned in a canon sourcethat's the reason why there's an article for this individual but not one for, say, Cuthbert Binns's great-great-great-grandmother. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 22:08, July 15, 2012 (UTC)
Also, our notability guidelines state that articles about relatives explicitly referred to in canon, as Mr. Binns here is, are acceptable. If you wish to change this, the forum would be a better place to discuss this, as that would be a larger issue than just this article. Also, not every character has a father... -- 1337star (Drop me a line!) 22:15, July 15, 2012 (UTC)
