Devil's Snare photosynthesis[]

Since most plants like and NEED sunlight to produce food via photosynthesis, is it possible that the Snare uses moonlight to do the same? Per Ankh, now owner of the TDC wiki. 22:16, August 20, 2011 (UTC)

Well, as the Devil's Snare likes the dark and the damp, I figure it would be also averse to moonlight. I had always thought of the Devil's Snare as a carinivorous, heterotrophic plant, as it was always so keen on killing nearby living beings. This, however, is only my personal view, and is not corroborated in canon in any way. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 16:39, September 9, 2011 (UTC)
True, but Hermione said it hates sunlight and fire, therefore it would feel comfortable under the moon, preferably the New moon. Then again, it did survive somehow underground with little to no light for almost a year. Per Ankh, now owner of the TDC wiki. 16:45, September 9, 2011 (UTC)

I highly doubt that was Devil's Snare in the maze. I believe its more likely they were the roots of the hedges. The hedges were enchanted to move, so why wouldn't the roots move as well? Gryffindor1991 16:10, September 9, 2011 (UTC)
