Can we suggest that he lived sometime between 1634 and 1995? The earliest recorded designs for ear trumpets were in the 17th century, though it wasn't until the 1700s (18th century) that their usage became common.
What we don't know is, firstly, whether wizards manufactured ear trumpets post-1963 (the last Muggle ear trumpets were produced in that time), and secondly, whether wizards had got the idea to make ear trumpets prior to 1634. --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 16:21, September 20, 2014 (UTC)
