For the Greater Good?[]

Is it possible that the Order was hoodwinked regarding the details on the untimely demise of Emmeline Vance? That Snape and Dumbledore secretly planned her demise (abelt with a heavy heart, I'm sure) to give Snape's double agent position more believability? Snape, as a thoguht-to-be loyal Death Eater at the time, would be a by far more important and useful resource to Dumbledore, and therefore, his position in the Order was more important to maintain? Is it possible Snape truly passed on to Voldemort (indirectly) from Dumbledore the information that enabled him to locate and murder her? Is it possible she was sacrificed for the Greater Good? Simen Johannes Fagerli (talk) 10:43, February 21, 2015 (UTC)

Anything's possible. I personally believe various deaths in the series, even those of Lily and James, were planned by Dumbledore to advance his goal of defeating Voldemort. There's no real canon evidence to support your theory, however, so noting the possibility would be beyond our scope. -- 1337star (Drop me a line!) 18:27, February 21, 2015 (UTC)
The proof in canon is the fact that it was Snape who gave the information so Voldemort could find and kill her. Simen Johannes Fagerli (talk) 20:11, February 22, 2015 (UTC)
That evidence only proves that Snape knew where Emmeline Vance could be located, and provided that information to Voldemort, knowing that Vance would be killed. That doesn't necessarily extend at all to Dumbledore or the rest of the Order. --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 21:28, February 22, 2015 (UTC)
Of course, you might be read, but I have a hard time imagening Snape sacrificing a member of the Order without a green light from Dumbledore. Simen Johannes Fagerli (talk) 14:14, February 23, 2015 (UTC)
