Spell Usage[]

I know this spell is used on Neville, but I don't remember which book it was in... any other uses of this spell? Travlr23 04:51, 6 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Hermione used it on Neville in Philosopher's Stone. More recently, Draco Malfoy used it on Harry in Half-Blood Prince. I don't recall any other uses right off the top of my head. Hermione1980 13:31, 6 Dec 2005 (UTC)
Doesn't Dumbledore use a nonverbal version of this spell at the end of HBP? And maybe finding out what the counter-spell is might be good to put in this article. (goes looking for it) Travlr23 14:46, 6 Dec 2005 (UTC)
Yeah, he does. I don't know what the countercurse is; I don't think the countercurse was ever given in the books. Hermione1980 16:48, 6 Dec 2005 (UTC)
Well, it isn't given... true... but Tonks de-freezes Harry on the train. But there is no word to the spell. sigh And I've always wondered who un-freezes poor Neville. Though, as far as contributing to this wiki, I think I might try to work on making your list of spells and their effects a little longer. ;) Travlr23 02:52, 7 Dec 2005 (UTC)
That'd be very welcome - especially as no-one seems to be keen on doing that kind of work. ;p The Chosen One (Choose me!) 06:26, 7 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Dolohov seems to get this curse every time he's deafeated except for his duel with the Charms professor

Refs for counter-curses[]

It would be a good idea to give references for each supposed counter-curse. Alas, I remember none of them. Azraphon 18:34, July 20, 2010 (UTC)

Episkey[]

It was claimed that the healing spell Episkey can also reverse the effects of this curse in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, potentially making episkey a counter-curse. However, as I do not play HM myself, I cannot confirm this statement. I know Episkey works as a general healing spell to fix minor injuries, however, I do not know if it can reverse the paralysis caused by this curse. Could someone confirm this as either correct or incorrect (with an exact HM chapter reference if applicable)? RedWizard98 (talk) 14:38, 11 December 2020 (UTC)

I haven't played it myself in a long time, but the spell is one of those that can be cast in any duel once it is mastered if I remember correctly. I don't if it can remove the paralysis effect caused by the full body bind though.Rodolphus (talk) 14:48, 11 December 2020 (UTC)

(Spoilers present from hphm!)Hello, sorry for the late response, even (though I was the one who started this topic. In year 4 chapter 13, a dark wizard attacks us, then we're saved by Patricia Rakepick. Our friends were attacked by the full body bind curse by the dark messenger, and we use Episkey on them. It was the only place where I saw episkey being used, nowhere else. In duelling it can be used as a healing spell but doesn't work against petrificus totalus (if you're stunned you can't use any spells lol). If you ask me, I think it should be added to behind the scenes, not in the main article, because yes it seriously doesn't make any sense that Episkey should work as a counter curse against petrificus totalus. Thank you, do let me know what you guys think. Natalia Tonks (talk) 13:50, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
