Wizard[]
Could he be a wizard? Why else would the New Salem Philanthropic Society picket his rally? It exists to route out and destroy wizards. --HarryPotterRules1 (talk) 13:30, February 11, 2016 (UTC)
- Alternatively, they might've just wanted the publicity, or to pressure the Senate into espousing their views. It all comes down to not presuming anything until we are given the full picture in a few months' time. -- Seth Cooper owl post! 19:15, February 11, 2016 (UTC)
Seth is right. All we know about the NSPS is that, not only does it believe there are wizards, but that it is xenophobic in regards to wizards (ie, they are not us, they are dangerous, and they need to be destroyed). And that a picket is different than bringing out the torches and pitchforks - that it is a protest and not a lynching. Then again, one needs to know how big this group is - if there are not very many of them, they may picket even if they prefer to lynch. Seth is right though that pickets are usually about pressuring a politician to do something or not do something - though it could be a picket against his re-election. The American Senate is related to bills and laws - so probably they disagree with either part of his platform or some bill he supported or opposed. It may or may not have anything to do with anything wizard in anyone's mind but the NSPS.
Vernon Dursley hated the novel and strange and liked the ordinary and familiar and bland. Vernon is the closest that we have been exposed to as a wizard hater, but he hated strange even when muggles did it. (Vaudree (talk) 08:32, February 12, 2016 (UTC))
