I thought they were referred to as Merfolk? 06:37, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

Merpeople is the official name for them as per Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (real). I believe Merfolk is used interchangably with Merpeople however to describe the species. - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 14:59, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

Where are they known as Selkie's and Merrow's?? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talkcontribs).

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The reference has been added. - Nick O'Demus 20:28, May 20, 2011 (UTC)

Singular or Plural

Pretty much all of the other pages for beings and beasts have titles in the singular form. Why is this one plural? Regulus A. Black (talk) 08:23, June 21, 2013 (UTC)

Merpeople Noises

The noises the Merpeople make (e.g. the high pitched wailing) gave me nightmares when I was younger. As of 2009, I can just have a good laugh about it. C.Syde (talk | contribs) 01:06, March 14, 2014 (UTC)

Man, you were haunted by their noises for four years? That's rough Gurgatory (talk) 01:11, March 14, 2014 (UTC)

Three years actually. Didn't watch The Goblet of Fire until mid 2006. I was careful to mute the volume while watching the Second task part of the film thereafter, until mid 2009 when I felt that I was old enough to overcome the "once haunting" merpeople noises. Could merpeople have children with wizards/witches? Andrewh7 (talk) 21:04, October 2, 2016 (UTC) Andrewh7
