Hello![]
In Jacob's notebook, it said he was moving his research to his secret room to avoid Snape, Filch and R. Jacob and Snape's student careers overlapped to some extent, (Snape is born in 1960 and if my math is correct, Jacob's born around1964), and Snape is known to have tried to have peers he distrusted expelled in the past. I don't know, what do you think? Regardless, this indicates R was old enough for Snape to know him from years back, consistent with how Snape knew who R was and immediately alerted Dumbledore when Jacob's sibling told him about the letter from R when caught sneaking out of the Slytherin Common Room. Is Peter Pettigrew part of R?[]
I think we can list Peter Pettigrew as being part of R, based on the following evidence:
- We know that Patricia Rakepick and Jacob both had some involvement with R; they went to the Portrait volt with Pettigrew, which would seem unlikely if he wasn't part of R.
- In year 4, someone forced Ben Copper to put on a disguise and threaten Jacob's sibling. Ben later says (year 5) that he believes it was Scabbers (Pettigrew, based on book 3) who did it.

Article name[]
After the recent chapter where we encounter Rakepick in Azkaban, I have gotten the distinct impression that R is not the name of the The Cabal, or otherwise used to refer to the organisation as a whole, but its leader. I've sort of gotten the sense that this is a misconception on the part of the "good guys", who incorrectly uses "R" and "The Cabal" interchangiably. I therefore propose changing the name of the article to "The Cabal". WeaseleyIsOurKing89 (talk) 14:43, 6 June 2022 (UTC)

- For some odd reason I dislike things purely named after one letter, since it is rather hard to search for this individually without other articles showing up first in the search bar, and I would be okay with it being renamed the Cabal as I'm sure the game does it multiple times, but at the same, 'R' appears to be the most common. Perhaps we could wait and see what the next chapters hold? Presumably 'R' must be an initial for something. In what chapters is it called the Cabal specifically? - And in what chapter is it capitalised as "The Cabal" instead of "the Cabal"? I only remember seeing the latter so far. MalchonC (talk) 17:37, 15 June 2022 (UTC)
I might be misremembering. Whether we're talking The Cabal or The Cabal, though, the point stands. WeaseleyIsOurKing89 (talk) 18:00, 15 June 2022 (UTC)
