Cannon? []

Reed is not listed on the list of Pottermore, and I propose that those are the only cannon wand woods. Dr. Galenos (talk) 18:36, December 11, 2013 (UTC)

That can't be right, because in the first book Ollivander states James Potter's wand was made of mahogany, a wood not included on the Pottermore list. Besides, those wands were just the woods Garrick Ollivander himself used - his Hogsmeade associates might have used other woods. --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 20:17, December 11, 2013 (UTC)
Of course the books as well... Dr. Galenos (talk) 20:53, December 11, 2013 (UTC)
Hunnie Bunn also forgot to add that Gregorovitch and whomever made Fleur's wand may also work with Reed - even if Fleur and Krum's wands are not made of it.--HarryPotterRules1 (talk) 21:10, December 11, 2013 (UTC)
Indeed, indeed. The existence of more wand woods than those Ollivander uses (or, if you will, more wand woods than those listed on Pottermore) is implied in canon. The usage of reed as a material for wand-making does not contradict canon at all. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 23:05, December 11, 2013 (UTC)
