However, when Isolt was five, William and Rionach were killed in a fire made by her estranged, Gormlaith Gaunt, who "saved" Isolt with the intention of raising her with a belief in pure blood superiority.

No problem! I wrote the article so it was an oversight by me, sorry! :) --User:EmilyMills22 (talk) 18:21, June 4, 2016 (UTC)

Adoption[]

I know Pottermore speaks about adoption of the Boot brothers, but that's ridiculous. After an adoption they would bear the name of their adoptive parents, either Sayre, when Isolt is the only adoptive parent, or Steward, if Isolt took this name after the marriage and both, she and James, adopted them.  Harry granger   Talk   contribs 13:21, July 3, 2016 (UTC)

The wizarding community has different laws than the Muggle community.--Rodolphus (talk) 13:26, July 3, 2016 (UTC)--Rodolphus (talk) 13:26, July 3, 2016 (UTC)

Oh, you think they can keep their surname? Maybe!  Harry granger   Talk   contribs 13:31, July 3, 2016 (UTC)
It's also the 1620s on the frontier of the New World - no adoption papers (or even government) to deal with so they can do as they please. --Ironyak1 (talk) 13:34, July 3, 2016 (UTC)
That also can be, but can there be an adoption without any law?  Harry granger   Talk   contribs 13:36, July 3, 2016 (UTC)
Of course - adoption is a relationship between people, which exists in many cultures (see Last of the Mohicans for example). The law is only a recognition of this relationship - it is not needed to create it. Cheers --Ironyak1 (talk) 13:43, July 3, 2016 (UTC)
Ah, okay, that's solves my problem! Thanks!  Harry granger   Talk   contribs 13:45, July 3, 2016 (UTC)
