What happened?[]
Am I looking too deeply into something that'll turn out to be nothing, or was Tobias gone one way or another by September 1st 1971? He either left the family or had died, methinks. Not only were Severus and Eileen alone (and we know he could have been there if he'd wanted, as the Muggle Evanses were also present), which might have been explained away as him being asleep or absent, but we know he was either abusive, neglectful or both, and that his wife was starting to fight back. It's likely he either died or had moved on someplace else ... or is it? Thoughts? --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 21:20, November 18, 2013 (UTC)
- Or, perhaps, everything was just as it was. Tobias was an abusive parent and husband who "[didn't] like anything, much"; I don't think he'd be the type of person who would bother to take his son to school, on top of that, a school for wizards, something he didn't really relate to. -- Seth Cooper owl post! 23:56, November 18, 2013 (UTC)
Hair colour[]
The fifth book does not say that Tobias had dark hair. He is only described as having a hooked nose. I have removed this from his descriptions.

We don't know that he and Eileen are dead[]
I removed sentences which described him as "probably" being dead in 1996. Severus is only in his thirties during the series, so Tobias and Eileen could both be alive. Death is not the only possible explanation for Severus owning the house. Maybe they divorced and both moved away, maybe their financial situation changed somehow (i.e. inheritance of money) and they purchased another home.

Tobias whipping Severus[]
I believe on the old Pottermore site, it was said that Tobias even whipped Snape. Why is it not mentioned here, then?? --Lukas Exemplar (talk) 13:44, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
