Tangle & Noils Wigmakers & Perruquiers was a wig shop that sold wigs and fixed tangles and noils which was located in Diagon Alley, London, England, above Brigg's Brooms. Occupying the top floor of the building, it had a front door (without any stairs) that led out to a height of one storey above the street, which was presumably intended to make the store accessible only by broom.[1]
Etymology[]
- The name of the shop has textiles connotations; "to tangle" means "to become mixed together or intertwined", and a noil is a short fibre left over from combing wool or spinning silk during the preparation of textile yarns.
