- "Esteemed faculty and gathered students... Thank you for joining me in this, our Great Hall, for a very special announcement. I hereby declare the coming days at Hogwarts an official celebration of Teacher Appreciation! I should add that while this feast and celebration will recognise Hogwarts staff as a whole... It will specially honour one of our finest-- Professor Minerva McGonagall-- for her many years on her faculty."
- — Albus Dumbledore announcing the celebration in the Great Hall[src]
A Teacher Appreciation Celebration was regularly held at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for several days, to celebrate the whole Hogwarts staff. The celebration included a feast and presentations about the teachers' personalities and achievements, held by a group of students, each student interviewing a staff member. At every celebration, one staff member was chosen as the Guest of Honour.[1]
History[]
In the 1985–1986 school year, one of these celebrations was held. Professor Minerva McGonagall was chosen as the Guest of Honour, and was interviewed by Jacob's sibling. In order to learn more about McGonagall, Jacob's sibling also interviewed other professors, who had their original interviewers as follows:[1]
- Madam Irma Pince was interviewed by Ismelda Murk.[1]
- Professor Quirinus Quirrell was interviewed by Merula Snyde.[1]
- Professor Severus Snape was interviewed by Penny Haywood.[1]
- Professor Pomona Sprout was interviewed by Rowan Khanna. Rowan also decided to interview Rubeus Hagrid.[1]
