The Standard Book of Spells was a collection of books written by Miranda Goshawk for a variety of subjects at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The series included seven books, apparently for each year at Hogwarts, covering the spells students were taught. They were used by Professor Filius Flitwick in Charms,[1] and by Professor Severus Snape in Defence Against the Dark Arts during the 1996–1997 school year.[2] The Standard Book, or at least the second volume, cost 1 Galleon at the Flourish and Blotts bookstore.[3]
