The Tale of the Three Brothers is an independent short film based on the short story of the same name, first featured in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and later included in The Tales of Beedle the Bard. It was written by Sydney Hazzard and Brandon Doyen, and directed by Brandon Doyen, who are students at the New England School of Communications, under licence from Warner Bros., who own the film rights to the Harry Potter series.

An open casting call was held on 3 September 2013 for parts for the film. Principal photography was later completed for the film and its premiere was on 4 May 2014.[1] The film was shown at various film festivals after its completion.[2]

A grandfather[2] and a young boy were the two main characters of the piece. They were played by Ken Stack and Nathan Manaker.[1] The project was filmed using a RED Epic camera from the Red Digital Cinema Camera Company.[3]

The rest of the roles included Brandon Wardwell as Antioch Peverell, Sean Plourde as Cadmus Peverell and Gabriel Clarke as Ignotus Peverell. Emma Campbell played Death.[1]
