Thunderbird was one of the four houses at Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in North America.[1] It was named after the magical creature of the same name. Thunderbird House was sometimes considered to represent the soul of a witch or wizard. It was also said that Thunderbird favoured adventurers.[2]
Thunderbird was named by Chadwick Boot, one of the adopted sons of Isolt Sayre, founder of Ilvermorny.[3]
History
In 1926, Thunderbird received 289 House points, the lowest of all four houses, but won the Excellence in Runes Cup and Transfiguration Tournament.[4]
