Tim was a male Wampus cat that terrorised Hogsmeade in the 1990–1991 school year.

Biography

During the 1990–1991 school year, he attacked Dolores Umbridge and Ismelda Murk. He hypnotised them both afterwards to make them forget the attack, making them both only remember seeing his yellow eyes. This led Umbridge to suspect the beast that attacked her was in fact a werewolf.

Jacob's sibling clashing with Tim

Later, at Hogsmeade Station, he was lured out by a Niffler and had a fight with Jacob's sibling. He knocked their wand out of their hand, but they Stunned him wandlessly. Afterwards, Liz Tuttle named the beast Tim. They discovered that Tim had been transported from North America to Great Britain using a Portkey. They later delivered Tim to Rubeus Hagrid and Professor Kettleburn to let them care for him.

Much later in the school year, Jacob's sibling and their friends decided to release Tim into the Clock Tower Courtyard in order to create a large enough distraction so they could enter Olivia Green's office. This was an extremely reckless act that could have seriously injured students, which Professor Dumbledore seriously contemplated expulsion as a suitable punishment for the perpetrators. Green thankfully subdued Tim with the Sleeping Charm and had Kettleburn return him to the reserve.

Magical abilities and skills

• Hypnosis: Being a Wampus cat, Tim was capable of performing magical hypnosis. He hypnotised both Dolores Umbridge and Ismelda Murk after attacking them so they would not remember the event, with them both only remembering his yellow eyes.
• Legilimency: Being a Wampus cat, Tim was naturally capable of performing Legilimency. He could use this to read the minds of humans so he could hypnotise them.

Behind the scenes

• In the German translation of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, Tim is female and his name is changed to Tila.
