Timothy Bateson was an English actor, who provided the voice for Kreacher in the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. He also voiced the character in the video game adaptation of the same movie. Since his death in 2009, Simon McBurney took over the role in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1.[1]
Career[]
Born on 3 April 1926, in London, England. He appeared in the first British performance of Beckett's Waiting for Godot in 1955, and has appeared in countless film and television shows including: Labyrinth, Grange Hill, Doctor Who, The Hogfather and TUGS.
Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Bateson did voice work in several radio dramas produced by Focus on the Family Radio Theatre including their adaptations of A Christmas Carol and the Chronicles of Narnia - the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. He died at the age of 83 on 15 or 16 (sources vary) September 2009 in London, England, UK.

- Bateson, David Bradley, David Tennant, Michael Gambon and John Hurt have appeared in Doctor Who.
- Bateson voiced several characters in TUGS, the sister series to Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends, the latter of which featured Eddie Redmayne, John Hurt, Rob Rackstraw and Jamie Campbell Bower.
- In 2004, Bateson did voice work on the Father Gilbert Mysteries radio dramas, alongside fellow Harry Potter actor Helen McCrory.
