"Yes, that's my new toaster. It's some kind of handheld model, you see! Let me tell you, it burns very hot!"
Winifred Whittle, referring to a blowtorch[src]

A Toaster is a Muggle device used to make toast out of bread for toasting other various breakfast grains.[5]

History[]

During the 1984–1985 school year Christmas holidays, Jacob's sibling helped Bill and Charlie Weasley find a toaster in the Artefact Room at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to give to Arthur Weasley as a gift.[4]

During the 1990–1991 school year at Hogwarts, Professor Arif Sikander taught his seventh year Muggle Studies class about toasters.[1]

The Dursley family owned one, which they kept in their kitchen at 4 Privet Drive.[2][3] One particular brand of toaster was the UV Toastmaster Mark VII.[6]

When Muggle construction workers threatened to disturb the habitat of magical beasts in a forest that had not been properly protected with Muggle-Repelling Charms, witch environmental activist Winifred Whittle spread around the woods a series of Muggle Guards to keep them at bay. While doing so, she retrieved what she called a "toaster" — but was actually a blowtorch.[7]
