This arrow was an heirloom of Torvus's family. Jacob stole it and used it to open the Forest Vault. It later appeared in the Vault of Fear and was collected and brought along by Jacob's sibling, albeit missing the head. Jacob's sibling later found the head and used it to open the centre column of the Forest Vault.
Torvus helped Jacob, a student of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, enter the Forest Vault, but he refused him when Jacob wanted to use the arrow to open the door. Jacob would later steal the arrow from the Camp and use it to enter the Vault.
Jacob's sibling found this arrow in the Vault of Fear when they broke into it at the end of their third year. He carried it along to the Forest Grove to find the Forest Vault, and met Torvus, who told them the story of the arrow. It however was missing the head, and Jacob's sibling offered to search for it in exchange for Torvus to read the planets and look into the future.
After failing to find the arrowhead inside Hogwarts Castle, Jacob's sibling and Sickleworth found it in the Red Cap's Hole, and returned it to Torvus, before repairing it with the Mending Charm. Upon entering the Vault, Jacob's sibling used the arrowhead to open the centre column and reveal objects inside.
