A transfer student was a magical or non-magical student who changed school at a point in their education.
Known transfer students
- In the 2010s, a Slytherin student informed Headmistress McGonagall that she would be transferring from Hogwarts School to Beauxbatons Academy.[1]
Possible transfers
- In the 1985–1986 school year, Aurélie Dumont told her friend Penny Haywood that she was considering transferring from Beauxbatons to Hogwarts, though in reality she was searching for an alchemical artefact.[2]
- During the 1989–1990 school year, Alanza Alves transferred from Castelobruxo to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Behind the Scenes
- It is unknown if transfer students have the same requirements as first year students. For example, Hogwarts serves students who live in Great Britain and Ireland, and Durmstrang does not accept muggle-borns.
