- "Ludo Bagman, you have been brought here in front of the Council of Magical Law to answer charges relating to the activities of the Death Eaters. We have heard the evidence against you, and are about to reach our verdict. Do you have anything to add to your testimony before we pronounce judgment?"
- — Bartemius Crouch Senior to Ludo Bagman at his trial[src]
The trial of Ludovic Bagman occurred before the Council of Magical Law at some point after Lord Voldemort's first downfall.[1]
History[]
- Barty Crouch Senior: "Ludovic Bagman, you were caught passing information to Lord Voldemort's supporters. For this, I suggest a term of imprisonment in Azkaban lasting no less than — "
- Ludo Bagman: "But I’ve told you, I had no idea! None at all! Old Rookwood was a friend of my dad's ... never crossed my mind he was in with You-Know-Who! I thought I was collecting information for our side! And Rookwood kept talking about getting me a job in the Ministry later on ... once my Quidditch days are over, you know ... I mean, I can’t keep getting hit by Bludgers for the rest of my life, can I?"
- — Bagman being interrogated by Barty Crouch Senior[src]
Ludo Bagman was brought to the Ministry of Magic for a trial when he was accused of having passed information to Lord Voldemort. He had given information to Augustus Rookwood who worked in the Department of Mysteries and was a friend of Ludo's father. Bagman was unaware that Rookwood was a Death Eater and in the end, he was cleared of all charges, due to him being completely innocent, as well being a popular Quidditch player and after this, was never again accused of allegiance with Death Eaters. Him being cleared did not sit well with Crouch, who showed very strong contempt towards Bagman during his trial.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- Since Ludo Bagman was omitted from the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, his trial is omitted.[2]
