Turkey is meat from the domesticated creature of the same name. It was served as a dish at the Yule Ball and the Welcoming Feast, among other occasions.
In 1991, over one hundred fat, roast turkeys were presented for the Hogwarts Christmas feast, despite the limited number of guests. Much of it was enjoyed at a latter meal as turkey sandwiches.[2] There were also turkeys at the End-of-Term Feast of 1993.[3]
Behind the scenes
- When Harry Potter saw Fawkes for the first time, on a Burning Day, the phoenix's appearance was said to resemble "a half-plucked turkey."[4]
