- "Now I know the kind of scum that shops here… We'll do better at Twilfitt and Tattings."
- — Narcissa Malfoy's high opinion of this business[src]
Twilfitt and Tattings was a wizarding clothing shop located in South Side, Diagon Alley, London.[2][1]
History[]
After a confrontation between Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger in Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions in 1996, Narcissa Malfoy and her son left the shop. They rudely expressed their preference of Twilfitt and Tattings out loud, due to the presence of a Muggle-born and "blood traitors" in Madam Malkin's.[2]
Known hats[]
Among their range of clothes, one could purchase the following items: suede Top Hat with Ribbon (black, blue, brown),[3] pointed Wizards' Hat (black, green, blue),[3] and pointed Wizards' Hat with Buckle (blue, red, green).[3]
It is likely that Twilfitt and Tattings was considered more upper class than Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions, because wealthy pure-blood families like the Malfoys favoured it.[2]
Etymology[]
- Part of the name of the shop, "Twilfitt" is obviously a play on "it will fit". A "tatting" is a kind of coarse, knotted lace.
