Twinkle's Telescopes was a shop in Diagon Alley that specialised in astronomical implements, such as telescopes, moon maps, and star charts.[2]
It was located between Praedico Predico and Pettichaps. The building that housed Twinkle's Telescopes also housed Tut's Nuts in its basement.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- Illustrator Jim Kay revealed that Twinkle's Telescopes was named after a real shop in Mansfield, "Sally Twinkles".[3]
- He perhaps meant "Sally Twinkle", an arts and crafts store.[4]
- This is the only known shop in Diagon Alley devoted to astronomy, so it could be the same place where Harry Potter saw a large glass ball with a perfect moving model of the galaxy inside it for sale in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.[5]
